Technology

Now I absolutely love new technology and usually can't wait to get my hands on it, even though most of the time I have to wait because I can't afford it, but thats a whole different story.

most people now have a fair few up to the date technology going on in their lives, that being smart phones, PC's or Mac's, digital home phones, digital TV with HD or 3D tech on it, Sat Nav's etc etc etc I could go on but you get my point.

we to some extent all of this help us to make life easier and more exciting but it also has it's downfalls too.

I was just thinking about this last night as I was asked to drop something off at a friend of friends house, now I have been there twice.

now in the past I have always had a very good memory for getting to places, once I have been one time as long as I go exactly the same way I could get myself back there. I have now notice that I have started to rely on my Sat Nav to get me places and so I take very little notice of where I am or how I got there, so I had not get a clue as the were to go other than it was in West Swindon which is not much help really.

Why I was thinking about it last night was I was over West swindon last night and though I could drop it in but had no clue as to were to go, I though right I need a post code and then I can get there but this is not something you just carry around, especially for friend';s of your friends, in the end i had to just come home and now I have to go out there today with the post code.

I am going to try to get there myself with the sat Nav on silent and only look at it when really necessary, this way I can see if I am just relying on it but don't need to or if I really am getting that lazy (no comments from those that know me about he lazy thing please) so we shall see.

I will let you know the outcome, please let me know if you have similar issues?

Love to you all

Uckk!!!

I have not been sleeping to well lately and i'm not the best at getting up in the morning anyway, this morning I really found it difficult. The alarm went off and I snoozed it about ten time, then I was just laying there in the ben not wanting to move, but it was getting very late and i really needed to get up.

after getting up practically with my eyes shut and walked into the next room to get my clothes on, so as not to disturb the sleeping husband, i got dressed and did all the things i needed before very quickly leaving for work as now I was running quite late.

It had to be the first day back after the half term as well so it took so much longer that it has all of last week, I was thinking i will just work later today to make up for it.

For some reason my t-shirt was really starting to irritate me and really could not work out why, so I fidgeted a little and tried to ignore it until I got to work.

IAs I said i was a little late for work so rushed in and got to the stairs and t-shirt started again , so as it was quiet and just before the door to my shared office I looked at what it could be that was scratching at me, OH MY DAYS it was bird shit on the inside of my top. I was disgusted and walked into the office holding my top about a foot away from my body.

Now as you can imagine people were very interested in why I was doing this and found it very amusing when I told the story of what had happened. Anyway with no spare clothes on me I had to go off to the Toilets and try to clean this off and stay in the t-shirt all day as had back to back meeting all day.

Moral of the story, do not get dressed while asleep.

Listen To People

I don't know what you all think about this, but this is my view.

I think that one of the most important things in life is to listen to people or for someone to listen to you. this could be in your relationship with your partner, with your friends, at work, where ever but it is important.

I have in the past needed people to listen to me, when I was going though some really rough times at work, I just wouldn't shut up about it and needed to talk a lot while in supervisions.

When I have need to talk something over with a friend to help me make up my mind about something.

To talk to Alex about our relationship, the dog, the car, the house or anything else as a couple you need to talk about or discuss, if you don't it drives you crazy and you can't sleep.

I alos like to think that I have been there for all my friends, Family and Alex whenever they have needed me to listen or advise.

The one thing through all this for me, is I think by talking and listening to all the people around us it can really help to lessen the load, sort out your thoughts and helps that relationship deepen because you start to really trust the person you feel able to talk to.

To all the people that have had me ranting, talking, undecided, bitching, complaining etc etc, I would just like to thank you all for all the help and support you have given and for what you will give in the future.

Please leave a comment and tell me what you think of this blog?

Time for you!

Like many other people who may read this blog my life (in and out of work) can be and is very hectic, time seems to fly away and like now before you know it half the year has gone by "AARRG" but that is life as we know it in todays society.

I think we all try different things to relax and have some time out, going to the gym or doing some sort of exercise, going out with friends for drink or meal, sitting and watching telly, Gardening etc etc, I have tried all of those things (tho not so much of the exercise, I still have a try harder mark on that one) but you get my point.

All of that tho is or can be very time constrained, going out, "what time should we meet" getting home " I have to get back for the babysitter" Gym class "can't walk in late" TV well that all depends whats on but what about just taking some time to be alone and relax with no one else around. I bet not many of us do that hey? I know I don't.

So lately I have been thinking what can I do just for me, well my answer to this is doing some training and by that I mean education not exercise (remember what I said earlier). So I am thinking I will look into doing some more massage courses or maybe a meditation course as that would benefit me too.

What do you think? let me know, if you do something you would like to share, please do.

You never know if I do do one of these courses I may need some case studies and your luck could be in.

Ooops we did it again!!!

I wonder if any of you guys have done this too, I can't believe we are the only ones.

Let me know your story?

We like to feed the birds in our garden and we try to do this every day but we don't get nice little bird in the garden, no we get fecking great big bloody pigeons and they are far from under nourished too. The poor little birds land and as soon as that happens the pigeons are there and the little birds fly off, it's like they are stalking them and defending there territory, well I say it's my fecking territory so sling your flipping hook.

I get in from work today and Alex it at the end of his tether, he says to me "we are going to the garden centre and getting a bird feeder that the pigeons can not feed from the dirty little B%*&*!DS". so after quickly having a cup of tea, getting changed, reading my blog (to see I still have no more followers) and putting my shoes on we went off in the car to the local garden centre.

Our garden centre has changed the way you have to go into the place now, you have to enter via the outside planting area and go past several doors which no longer open to get inside, then you have to go around the whole shop to get to the tills.
Now as we have all guessed this is because they want us all to see as many products as possible before getting to the tills.

Well we fell for it again hook, line and sinker.
Off we went round and seen some deals just for the gardening club members (which we are) yay, we saw a lovely rose (very pretty) which we must have, then a deal on grow bags which I needed for my tomato plants.
I sent Alex off to get a trolley as we needed one now and when he came back I had found a END OF SEASON SALE CORNER, well be both practically ran over to it and barged passed people to get to it, within seconds we had managed to disperse all that were there looking and settled in for a good rummage.

I was at one end of this sale and Alex the other, I found two wonderful Clematis and he found a beech tree that he has always wanted to have, great.
So off we go into the inside garden centre to pay when I came across a archway, great we have wanted one of them for ages and it was reduced to Members, the only thing was it was the last one and it was open and we could not be sure it had all the parts in it.

Anyway we took all these things to the till and before starting I explained the issue with the arch to the assistant, the young girl said she would have to go and get her manager and see what to do.
About ten minutes later she came back and had a new box with this arch in that she had been told was outside, we had this one instead which Alex was a bit dismayed at as he wanted me to haggle about the price and get a tenner taken off it.

We finished at the till having paid almost £60 pounds all in all and happily left to put the things in the car. we were very nearly there when I turned to Alex and laughed, he turned to me and asked why I was laughing and I said that we had come out with all this lovely stuff but had not got the one thing we had come to get, The Bird Feeder.
Oh no he shouts and I say lets go back in and get one and with that we both turned around to go back in and what do we see, the man from the garden centre locking the gates. The shop has closed and we were the last ones out, bugger!!!!!!!!!!

Moral of the story: make a list, take it and get only what you need.
However we will have a lovely garden but very hungry little bird and very fat pigeons.

You can all do better and start leaving me some comments or at least tick one of the boxes at the bottom here.

This is people who should care

I have worked with people who are very vulnerable for over ten years and I work with people who have been in longer than that and the first topic when we got to work today was this programme. We at work were all so outraged and angry at what we had seen, this gives a bad name to all places and that is a shame because this is very rare, even so someone in their should have done something to stop this no matter what the cost to themselves at lease they would have their dignity and morales at the end.

Non of us had ever seen such disgusting behaviour from the staff and from supposedly experienced staff who allowed this to carry on, the abuse was so bad it was extremely hard to watch and I find it hard to think that these people think that this is acceptable behaviour for anyone at any time for any reason.

If you have not seen this Panorama programme then follow the link below but be aware it is not easy viewing, these people were supposed to be there to help and support the people in their care.

I feel very strongly that a prison sentence should be had by all that were involved and that CQC who ignored three attempts by a former employee to report abuse and while this all happened they inspected normally and found nothing of consequence, well maybe they should also be investigated for negligence.

I had foolishly thought that this kind of behaviour had gone way back when all those institutions were closed back in the 50s, 60s & 70s but this is a scary reminder that people can get in if they really want to, but all of us that believe that we are good at our job need to make sure we don't stand by and let this happen.

Sorry to rant but this really got to me and others I know.

Try to help or not!!!!!

We have just spent a whole bank holiday weekend tidying up the house as it has been a mess for a long time, this I must say was because we have been renovating the back room and decorating. Well as you can imagine with Alex and me every single room was a mess not just the back room. Anyway from all that we also did the office room which we have ignored for many many month and the paperwork, well let's just say I don't do that much in my job in a year and my job is at least 50% paperwork. In the end we had a pile of stuff to sort out and fill in and send off and amend, we decided to do this tonight. We got through it surprisingly quickly and the last thing to do was set Alex up on his Internet banking site, now Alex will tell you himself he is not great with technology which may surprise you all as he is constantly texting, emailing, blogging & facebooking but then I set him up on all of them. For some random reason he wanted to do this all by himself. Well ok I thought I will just sit in the room and help him if he needs it but oh no, I can not be in the room with him I put him off. I pop in every now and again just incase but he turn the laptop away from me like he is on a porn site or something (he wasn't by the way). He has this thing special key code that looks like a calculator and he is trying to set this up, first he has a problem with starting it up but won't have help. Then he puts in a code that he will use each time to get this special code which is different each time, sounds complicated I know but is good idea really. Well Alex is not the best for remembering anything like that so I suggest he write it down but no he doesn't want to do that either. Well give him his dues he did do it all by himself, so I suggested he log off and try to log on again to see if it worked alright. This he did try and what do you know he had forgotten his code already but five minutes and several try's later he got it, so you might say well he done it leave him along but I can 97.5% guarantee that with in a month he will need my help to get on to this site again. So anyway the point of this blog is when people offer to help you, make things easier or similar why not just accept it and not be precious about it. Just a thought. Love from Tony

Boo

Now I didn't start of going round trying to make people jump but it seems I have a nature ability in this area.

I have found that if for instance I see some one in a shop that i know and go up to them, they seem to jump.

In work with my colleagues I go to their desk or walk through a door, things as simple as that and they jump.

Best of all is at home with Alex as all I have to do is be there and he jumps a mile, screams and runs off literally. Now on my part I have to say they with Alex it make me laugh so much that I have started to do this on purpose.

Now this has proved very funny and when he calms down he sees the funny side too, but it did back fire on me the once when I had gone upstairs a while before him and then heard him coming up so I hide in the dark in a doorway, giggling to myself at how funny this would be and then jumped out at him with a loud BOO!!!! and he absolutely crapped himself, unfortunately for me he had been very nice and made me a cup of tea to drink which as you can imagine what two feet in the air and spilt all down the wall and on the carpet, Whoops mind you I still laughed for about and hour until my sides hurt so much I really had to stop.

Now is it me, my face  could be that bad that people just get a shock every time they see me but I would like to think not.
i have been told I am very stealthy and this could be the reason, i have had quite a few comments saying I should wear a bell around my neck so people could hear me coming.
Is it because I have been brought up with good manners and when I see people talking I don't like to interrupt and then when they are finished they see me and jump a mile, Maybe.

those of you that know me may be able to answer this question for me and those of you that don't know me could still comment and give me your thought too.

Either way and whatever the comments I still laugh so much that I think I would fail to stop anyway, why don't you try it out and tell how you got on?

Have Fun
With love

We Must go out

My thoughts about something that happened to me today. Walking through town today while just finishing a meeting, I bumped into a friend from my last work place(left 2 1/2 years ago now). We had a chat and left saying "we must go out and catch up" and this I have to say that this is not the first time I have said this to her and vice versa. At the time we both mean it but we all just get busy and can make time or forget about it until the next time we bump I to each other. We all do, don't tell me you don't!!!!! I am in the bath doing this note and thinking go and do what you have said because people are not there forever and you don't k ow if there will be a next time.

What do you all think?

A thought from Tony

Just A Thought

Work has been hard, tiring, testing and time seems to slip away when you have so much to do, but just one achievement in a day can make it all seem worth it and the people you work with can really make a difference from it being a bad day to a good day.

The house is a total mess with things all over and not in the right place, I can never find anything and thing just constantly break, go wrong and cost money. Then I know my house is great, I have good neighbours and live in a nice area, I am lucky to even have a home.

Have spent over £700.00 on my car today getting it fixed and other things have gone wrong not so long ago, I have hated my car since I bought it but again I am lucky to have one, to be able to drive and to have the freedom it allows me.

I have a partner who drives me crazy, nuts, angry at all the things the he does or doesn't do, the things he says or does not say, telling everyone about our arguments. I am so thankful I have him because he help me make sense of things, helps me put things into perspective, tells me when I'm being stupid, is concerned for me if I'm not well or quiet and he make me laugh like no one has ever done before.
I am very lucky to have him (and him me).

So all in all, I like several million other people have a lot of shit, bad luck you might say and things really don't seem that great. However I feel very lucky to have all these things, good and bad because it make me better. I have great family and friends that will always be there for me, I live in a place many people think is shit but they don't see all the good I see here in this town and the people that are trying there hardest to make it better.

I have a partner who really doesn't know how great he can be and how much he means to me.

So life can get you down quite lot, but you know what just get back up and tell it to back off because your not giving up your fighting to the very end, in the end your life is weighed up by how much the good has out weighed the bad and if you don't fight you will lose.

Just a though
Love to you all

World Money Issues

Why is it that the public are now paying extra taxes, losing jobs, having public services cut or stopped all together.

All of this came about because of bad management from the government and very especially the banking system.

The British public paid the banks with our taxes to save their mistakes and yet we are still paying the price and will be fir at least the next 5 years, why?

Why do the government not charge the banks and stop all high paid benefits, suppliment or bonus's to the bankers and politicians who are the people who put us in this situation?

Why is it that we are all still paying the same if not more tax on our wages, cigarettes, alcohol, petrol and food etc etc and yet all the services are going down, being reduces.

It seems as a country we can give money to others countries yet not have enough to sustain our own, we as a nation are very giving but give us a break please!!!

I work in local government and believe me they are making people work two or three jobs, in the same time as one and with the same wage as one job, sooner or later we are all going to burn out.
All who agree please let me know!!!

End of rant.

Time

Time is like a handful of sand slipping through your hands at a steady but fast pace, each grain of sand representing a minuet decision you have made which then leads you on to the next and the next. Until one day the sand runs out and you have no time left. Non of us know how much sand we have so think about each decision and do the things you enjoy because once that sand has gone! As much as you grab you will never pick up the same grain again, it has gone forever. Share life, laugh, cry, smile at someone and they will smile back, be kind and helpful when you can and apologise when you are in the wrong, as I found recently even when you really don't like to do it!! Friendship is worth more than you feeling embarresed. When your sand has run out and you look back you will be able to say I did my best in everything I did and I have good friends and family because because I was good to them (if a little bitchy) but good. Always be there for people when they need you. With love Tony Barrass-Haswell
